How it works
Auto-detected from your phone
When you open a TapTales experience, it reads your phone's language settings and automatically displays content in your preferred language — no setup needed.
Switch language manually
Tap the 🌐 globe button in the top-right corner on page 1 of the experience to open the language menu and choose any of the 33 supported languages.
Powered by Google Cloud Translation
Translations are generated using Google Cloud Translation API for accurate, natural-sounding text across all supported languages.
Landmark names stay in their original language
Proper nouns — like the names of bridges, monuments, and places — are kept in their original form regardless of the language you've selected.
Cached for faster repeat visits
After your first translation, the text is saved locally on your device. Return visits load instantly — even offline — without needing to fetch translations again.
